The Vampire Kisses Series

Vampire Kisses is a short yet long series of books by Ellen Schreiber.By short I mean all of the books are pretty small and by long I mean there's eight of them, and then four mangas. In totally the series will have nine books and six mangas, the final book will be coming out sometime in May the mangas I'm not too sure about.

The books are short and simple, they're nothing too series but at the same time they're enjoyable with their simpleness. The plot lines are predictable at this point(or maybe I've just been reading this series for far to long) but they're perfect if you're looking for something short and cute.

The series starts out with Raven,a sixteen self-proclaimed goth who lives in Dullsville,a boring and well pretty dull town. She's vampire obsessed and dreams of finding her gothic-vampire mate. When the new Sterling family moves to town, their arrival is met with numerous rumors that they are in fact a family of the living dead.As any vampire crazed teen would Raven sneaks into their mansion to try and get a look in at them. She finds the normal basement things, old furniture, dust cobwes, old pictures ect. Eventually Raven is able to meet Alexander Sterling, a smokin hot gothic seventeen year old guy with deep brown eyes, long black hair and ghostly pale skin and in Ravens eyes,he's pretty much perfect.

A cute love story insured Raven and Alexander begin their cute romance with candle lighted dinners, picnics at the graveyard, and all of those lovely things that make us teen girls swoon and fall head over heels.Though no romance is perfect without it's drama. When Alexander takes off in the middle of the night Raven is left heart broken and alone.Although Raven isn't as weak she may appear and goes off to find him,and thus begins the second book where we meet our main villain of the story Jagger Maxwell,an old enemy of Alexanders. He and his two siblings, twin sister Luna and little brother Valentine, cause havoc for Raven and Alexander in the next few books.

Sadly their romance never seems to be overly easy and there is always the next hurdle to be jumped over.As well as fighting of fang wielding foes will Alexander ever bite Raven? It's a question all of us fans have ask throughout the series with so many of so close moments!

These books are a perfect read for anyone with the spare time on their hands or just want to relax and read something that's simple.Personally I'd give it an eight or nine out of ten and the books show it!They're well loved and adored.

Beast Master

So this week I'm reviewing a most wonderful manga called Beast Master! It's a short manga with only 7 chapters in total averaging about 40 pages each,so it's a quick and fun read if you've got the time. It's by Kyousuke Motomi,a wonderful artist who has a few other series that I'm completely in love with. The series was completed in 2007 and is held in two volumes.Oh yeah by the way it's Shoujo
The manga follows Yukio Kubozuka a second year high school student. She's seventeen years old and completely loves animals,(something I think a lot of high school girls can relate to)sadly though most animals hate her because she is just so overly affectionate. One night when she's trying to get her cat down from a tree a mysterious boy leaps down with her cat in his arms. He's covered in blood, crazed murderous eyes and untamed hair. She gets her cat back barely getting the chance to say thank you before he disappears. And that right there was Leo an extremely affectionate boy who is extremely naive of the world around him and is surprised and thrilled by the most simple things.Such as freaking out about the fizz of a soda.Leo is the complete opposite of Yukio in one way, animals love him and he can tame any beast that he encounters. He may seemed like a crazed animal to those he first meets but he's extremely sweet valuing Yukio's life before his own.He has a hidden side though, whenever he sees blood a strong fighting instinct takes over causing him to attack suddenly. It's now Yukio's job to try and control him! Will Yukio be able to control and master this wild beast or will he slip from her grasp?

Not wanting to spoil anything more I'll stop typing. The artwork in this series is lovely, the expressions of the characters perfectly in either the humerus or savage way the author wishes to portray them. The characters are also fun and loveable.I found myself sighing in sympathy with Yukio or chuckling to myself at Leo's actions or gasping in shock when twists are introduced.
Though it is a very short series it is one that you should look into if you're into Shoujo manga with a cute romance!A swoon worthy lead man(and yes I'm a bad boy lover) and an independent lead girl.

The red haired girl was looking over the waves looking towards the East. The salty wind pushed her hair back revealing the pale skin and large brown eyes. Sighing she turned away walking up the stairs of the Thousand Sunny avoiding the skirmishes of her fellow shipmates. Laying down on the soft green grass she looked up at the clear blue sky that only held a few scattered clouds, a large orange tree provided shade from the glare of the sun.
“Have I made you proud Bellemere-san?”
“Nami what are you doing?” She looked up at the form of her captain Luffy. His black rustled hair was being blown in the wind, his eyes looking down at her with thought and care. She looked away from the almost man afraid of the blush that she knew was working its way up to her cheeks.
“I’m fine Luffy, just thinking. Go back to playing with Usopp and Chopper, I can hear them calling for you.” She smirked slightly listening to the desperate calls of the two. Not saying a word he sat down beside her, leaning back on the palms of his hands long legs stretched out in front of him. Nami looked at him from the corner of her eye. He may of acted like a complete child but there was something in him that had sparked her interest the first time they had met. After knowing him for so long she could easily say that she had fallen head over heels for her captain.
“You’ve gotten even taller rubber man.” He smiled hugely at her comment, a set of  perfectly white straight teeth almost sparkling in the sun.
“Are you feeling alright Nami? Your face is all red!” He stood up in a panic scared for the health of his navigator, but more importantly she was his nakama and for his nakama he would do anything. The girl laughed loudly at his comment.
“I’m not sick Luffy calm down and sit down.” Tilting his head he did as he was told, in the position he was in he looked like an obedient dog. How could she have fallen for this child? He was passionate, strong, loyal and countless other things but he acted like a child. He was clueless about women not even caring that the most beautiful woman in the world had fallen in love with him, Boa Hancock. At the beginning Nami had seethed silently in jealousy but, after seeing that he was too thick to notice her advances she had calmed down quite a bit.
“Luffy do you miss your village?” The question sprung from her suddenly and took them both by surprise.
“I do, but being with my Nakama make it worth it. One day I’ll be the Pirate King and you among with the rest of my loyal crew can all go there together.” He was smiling up at the sky, a serious side emitting from him that rarely came out, only when his friends were in trouble.  The blush took over her face completely, the thought of being with him through all that was like heaven to her. He would become the Pirate King, there was no doubt about that.
“How about you Nami? Do you miss Cocoyasi?” He turned his smile to her knocking the young woman breathless. Sitting up straighter she hugged her knees lightly.
“Of course I do. My sister, Genzo, everybody….I miss them so much but it’s alright I’ll go back someday.” With the King of Pirates beside me, she didn’t speak the last thought.
“I’ll make sure to bring you back safely Nami, I swear it.” His usually cheerful carefree face turned serious. Nami smiled back at him sadly.
“Here.” Luffy removed his straw hat, the most important thing to him in the world and placed it lightly onto her head. Nami touched the edges lightly unable to believe what he had just done.
“Thank you Luffy.” She bit her lip for a moment debating weather or not to hug him or not. It seemed like the right thing to do but still it scared her.
She leaned in quickly hugging him tightly only for a few seconds, pulling back she looked him in the eye and a thought struck her. Without pause she quickly kissed his cheek before standing up leaving the boy sitting shell shocked on the ground, his hand slowly rising to touch his cheek where her lips had touched. Both of their cheeks were stained with pink. Nami pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, pausing another moment before turning to walk away. She was crushed. He hadn’t said a word, he wasn’t trying to stop her, he didn’t feel the same. Her eyes flooded with tears as she strode quickly away, clenching her fists tightly. She couldn’t let them see her cry.
A long rough hand wrapped around her wrist pulling her back. Turning she saw Luffy standing back up with a look in his eyes that she had never seen before.
“Don’t leave Nami.” His voice was strong, confident and filled with emotion. He tugged her arm gently bringing her back to him.
“Lu-luffy…” The boy smirked wrapping his long arms around her tiny waist and held her close, her hands reached up and squeezed the soft fabric of his red vest. Luffy’s forehead pressed against hers.
“Nami…” That one whispered word sent her heart flying, pounding so hard she was sure he could feel it.
“Nami, for you I will become the Pirate King. You’ll never want for anything, any treasure, money, clothes it will be yours. When  I become the king will you become my queen?”
“I don’t need the riches of the world, only you.” A small tear of utter joy leaked out from her eye, Luffy cupped her face in his hand and wiped it away slowly.
The kiss was soft, gentle and oh so sweet. Her knees weakened, her heart stopped completely before restarting again, pounding almost too painfully in her chest. None of it mattered though, the only thing to either of them was the other. The most beautiful and perfect moment there could have been. Of course when you’re on the Thousand Sunny with the StrawHat crew no such perfect moment can ever last.
“ROBIN-CHWAN! NAMI -SWAN!!” The blond haired chef swung the door of the kitchen open balancing a tray with two fresh drinks. He was smiling hugely looking for the two beautiful ladies. The sound of dishes being dropped and smashed to pieces brought the two new lovers out from their trance.
“Luffy you-” Whatever the foul mouth chef had been about to say was drowned out in the laughter coming from the other members of the crew.
“Run Luffy run!” Choppers adorable voice chanted quickly joined in by Usopp. The green haired swordsman Zoro sat back and laughed loudly while the raven coloured hair beauty,Robin, merely looked up from her book and smiled before continuing with her reading. Sanji chased Luffy, for hours on end and refused to later serve him any food. As always the night arrived quickly sending the crew members to their respected beds.
“Hey Luffy?” Nami inched up behind him with a sly grin.
“Yes Nami?” He made to hold her waist again.
“I think I will take all the riches in the world as well.” She winked and skipped backwards running quickly up the stairs and into her room laughing all of the way.

So I've cracked and joined this whole blogging world, mainly out of curiosity. So basically I'm going to be doing all sorts of reviews mainly ranging from animes, manga, books, movies and bands but they'll be other things as well and maybe even an elusive ranting post.I'm also an avid writer so maybe once in a while you'll see a snippet of it and me asking for your opinion.Really though this blog will be mainly used for reviews of all kinds.I'll take a request if it's possible for me to do so and am always interested in what someone has to say so feel free to drop a comment my way.I'll try to keep update this about once a week or so.
